Finance Minister Collins 'mums the word'
April 14, 2004. - Finance Minister Gary Collins, who is also the MLA for Vancouver - Fairview, is ignoring his constituents phone calls and letters regarding ICBC's misconduct toward the British Columbia public (see article ICBC, BC's Sponsorship Scandal?).

Minister Collins was first contacted on November 12, 2003, by a constituent and did not return the phone call nor several calls thereafter. Two letters were also faxed in November, 2003 and no reply has been received to date. In one of those letters, Minister Collins was requested
a reply to the question, "Do you agree that a crown corporation should force law-abiding BC'ers into complying with new laws/policies or rules which were not made public and which those British Columbians were not informed of?" The Minister has not replied.

As well, the provincial government's budget may in fact be comprised of profits (contributions) from the Crown corporation which were in part obtained by ICBC with lies, blackmail and extortionary tactics on the innocent and unsuspecting public.

To date, the Minister has not responded and has not addressed this very serious breach of trust by ICBC toward British Columbians as requested by his constituents.

We, the public, will not tolerate being lied to.
ICBC - stop the blackmail and lying.

Minister Collins is the MLA for the Vancouver- Fairview area. The minister was elected to represent and respond to the concerns of British Columbians. To date, the minister has ignored constituent requests. What is your MLA doing to address ICBC's misconduct toward the unsuspecting British Columbia public? (see article "ICBC, BC's Sponsorship Scandal?") Contact your MLA and request immediate action.

ICBC is banking on people's unwillingness to respond. Join us - over 3 million British Columbians pay for ICBC's services - 3 million people are a force to reckon with. Together we can ensure compliance from ICBC and the provincial government. We demand an investigation into these corrupt ICBC practices on the unsuspecting public.

JOIN US: We can stop the dangerous precedent that ICBC has now set for changing laws and not making a changed law or policy public - then accusing the public of non-compliance and soliciting hefty payments and unnecessary driver and related examinations re-testing.
Join us Email our requesting an inquiry and that laws must be made public.

Come Forward
ICBC lied to people who didn't know about the three year renewal policy change by telling them that letters were sent out and the change was posted in the media. In this way, ICBC forced compliance of the $125 and driver re-examinations on those applying for their drivers license renewal. Were you one of those people who was lied to? Please contact us.

We would also like to hear from others who have experienced good/bad/similliar situations with ICBC managers or staff in our SpeakEasy Forum
