TD Canada Trust sponsors Jazz Fests
A good corporate samaritan

Vancouver, October 30, 2003 - The Vancouver International Jazz Festival and jazz fests across the country are in for a TD Canada Trust treat - corporate sponsorship.

The banking giant couldn't have stepped forward at a better time. Bill C-71 which was passed by the Feds prohibited Tobacco companies such as Du Maurier from continued sponsorship.

TD will provide sponsorship for our local Jazz Festival for the next four years, as well as the major Jazz Festivals in Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax.

Jazz festivals in Victoria, Edmonton, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg and Montreal will receive some assistance as well from TD Canada Trust.

With last year's International Jazz Festival in Vancouver encompassing over 1700 musicians nationwide and from around the world -- with performances in over 40 venues around the city including theatres, nightclubs, and outdoor stages -- the sponsorship will provide the necessary funding assistance to keep a grand scale Festival intact.

With 3 million people attending the major Jazz Fests around the country, this might just be a terrific partnership for all!
