A Special Collector spoon (Bear Head Top and Beaver Tail bowl)
Westcoast Native Indian art features the Bear and Beaver animals in their combined art form.
The Bear presides as the lumbering, caring figure in this spoon (the protector) over the antics
of the burrowing Beaver. In folklore, both are to be respected and must not be unduly provoked.
The Bear's symbolic presence is always reassuring for his protective and caring instincts. He
also represents strength and therefore presides in the spoon carving.
The actual size is shown above in gilt finish.
The beautiful, simple and intricate design (note the carving in the spoon bowl also) makes this piece a
special collector spoon very significant.
This spoon is also a very fine gift to someone special.
